My Hero

So this is a late “answer” to the prompt. My hero. Normally, I’d make a long description of my hero but I figured I’d let a poem do it instead. Nothing like subtlety poetry right?

You
My defender
My comfort in the night
My blanket against
The frigid wind
My shield as I fight

You
My mentor
My light in my journey
My candle as I travel
The rocky roads
My reason I can see

You
My friend
My ally in the war
My fellow soldier in
These trying times
My self you did carve
